Can I Locate a Person Using an Unlisted Phone Number?
If you need to find a person, his or her address, email or some other piece of information and all you have is a phone number, this can be done. The job gets a bit more difficult though if the phone number you are using is unlisted. Since unlisted phone numbers are not allowed to be listed in public phone directories, you normally have to resort to a different tactic to get your person search results back.
One common way to do this is to use an online people search membership service. These services offer enhanced phone searches which include regular phone numbers, business phone numbers, mobile phone numbers and unlisted phone numbers. The databases are compiled using data from consumer credit reports, marketing agencies and other organizations. Often times, these enhanced phone search databases can contain up to 75 percent of the nation's unlisted telephone numbers and often over 90 percent of cell phone numbers (which are required by law to be unlisted by cell phone companies).
To access these enhanced phone search databases, you need to pay for access. This is done in different ways by different sites. Some sites charge per number you search. This can range from as little as $6.95 to as much as $40 per search. Other sites will charge you a flat rate fee to access multiple databases on your own. These service range in price from $29.95 a year to much more.
Another option is to use an investigative agency or private detective. This option provides you with a guaranteed trace of a phone number, but is usually considerably more expensive than the other choices. You can expect to pay a private eye $75 an up for a phone trace.
As you can tell, finding someone with an unlisted phone number is certainly possible. Your decision now is to determine which option you want to use. Good luck!
